We're All In This Together

We’re All In This Together

In honor of Indigenous People’s Day I am consciously tuning out the external noise of to-do lists and am spending the day tuning in to the beauty of Nature.

Yes, I live in a gorgeous corner of the world - Puget Sound, with water and trees and mountains all around, but am often guilty of moving too fast, not paying attention, not slowing down to appreciate the beautiful gifts Mother Earth hands to us each day.

And so this morning, by gazing out the window instead of my screen, I was treated to:

  • A family of Great Horned Owls hooting in the forest

  • A Humpback Whale!!! gliding across Puget Sound

  • A mother deer and her baby looking through the window at me, while I munched on my breakfast, and they munched on theirs

  • A coyote with a shiny silver coat sunbathing in our garden

I hope you too can slow down and find beauty in nature today.

If not a whale… perhaps a golden leaf backlit with sunshine

If not sunshine… perhaps the earthy smell of rain

If not hooting of owls… perhaps a chorus of mourning doves or seagulls or crows
