You have helped change the culture on social media. Your Art & Words refuel my spirit and brighten the days of friends with whom I share your work. Your books are my latest favorite gift to give, but your presence on social media centers me. Thank you for being the change I wanted to see on these platforms.

Take a Look inside:

True Friendship

Ah... it feels so good to be with friends
who love you for you
Who cherish you despite your quirks and weird habits
and lovingly accept those unlovable bits of you
that you're so afraid others will see
if they look closely

Who hold you when you cry
and then start crying with you
because when you're in pain
so are they

Who laugh with you over silly little things
that aren't really that funny
but cause ripples of laughter
an hour
and a day
later

Who open their closet
and pull out flowing dresses
so you can feel
like the beautiful Goddess
that you are

The Good Stuff

Life swirls around us
our to-do lists stretching
day-to-day
week-to-week
month-to-month
until too much of the good stuff
falls off

We just don’t have time
or energy left at the end of the day
after tackling the demands
of everything
and everyone
else

So let’s stop for just a moment
and allow ourselves to just be
to listen to the Earth
to breath in her colors
to feel her birdsong
to watch the scent of her roses float by
to taste her clouds

Let’s stop for a moment
and be thankful
for the beauty that surrounds us

Then promise ourselves
to put the good stuff
on the top of our list

Alley Cat

You showed up one day
howling at the door
demanding to be part of our family

Fiercely protective
you terrorized the neighborhood
Raccoons, large dogs
and other cats
ran from you
People too
kept their distance
from your famous southpaw

You were saving all your love
for us
And how could we resist?
We fell in love with you
right back
