Value is probably the single most important design element I consider while creating a color composition. The deep shadows, the bright highlights are what breath life and energy into every color palette and direct the viewers eye through the composition.
We hold the power to rise above feelings of anger and frustration and focus on what brings us together rather than what drives us apart. We can choose kindness and understanding over fear and tribalism.
When we are surrounded by the colors we love, we feel energized, uplifted and joyful! And the beauty is —the colors that bring you joy are unique to you!

Value is one of the most important elements of a composition. It is the mixture of light and dark values in a composition that provides us with visual depth, texture and movement.
I had to learn how to appreciate soft shades of grey because I’m naturally drawn to deeper, bolder, warmer undertones (surprise, surprise!!). But now that I’ve added Cool Earthtones into my coloring box, I’m falling in love.
