Let's Talk Color!
Color inspiration from a shell filled with red sea glass
I had the delightful honor of being an invited speaker at the Tacoma Weaver’s Guild April meeting last month. Their focus this year being COLOR, so how could I resist?
And oh, what joy! A room full of creativity, of women and men weaving color into objects of joy and beauty. My presentation followed on the heals of Show & Tell, and it was obvious that this group wove not only fiber, but also humor and friendship. My talk was chalk full of colorful slides and stories of course… and we had SO MUCH FUN!

We touched on Color Theory and how to use the powerful Eye For Color | Color Wheel System with it’s 6 Color Wheels and 6 Color Harmony Templates:
And discussed how to go from inspiration photo into creating a dynamic color palette:
Plus tips on seeing beyond the dominant colors into how to find nuances that can add depth, and even more colors, into your project:
And because I am a firm believer in the beauty of ALL colors — we worked on expanding your Colors of Joy so that ALL colors are in your Color Tool Box:

It’s been a long time—6 years to be precise—that I’ve been in a large group like this. My wonky immune system has kept me on the fringes. But as I slowly emerge out of my cocoon and spread my wings, I’m reminded of the healing power of Creative gatherings. And I would love to talk with YOU about color!
If your Creative Group would like to hear my presentation on Color—and how I weave it into my Nuno Felt, and paintings, and beadwork, and garden—then click the button below and let’s talk!
What made the presentation extra special was that my dear friend and business partner, Joie Moring (of Moring Designs) was with me to give a sneak-peek into our newest, very colorful and very exciting product! There are loads of logistics to sort out still, so we aren’t quite ready to reveal - but I know you are going to LOVE it! Stay tuned…
