Hugging Trees

I have to admit - I'm a tree lover
We built our house around the trees
And then planted more

I love the way light filters through the leaves
And the protective habitat for birds, squirrels, bats and owls
I love the cooling effect of shade on hot days
And warming canopy on cold days
I love the way the leaves rustle
And branches sway in the breeze
I love how fallen leaves provide rich compost
For the flowers and veggies in our garden
