Anchor

You took me onto the deck
To look between the trees
And across the water
At Mount Rainier
Sharing your dream
That this land
Stay in our family

You knew
Your memory was fading
That time was short
But you didn’t need to worry Daddy
My roots are as deep as the trees
And I am anchored to this land too
