If I Had A Sister
I never had a sister
to play with
to fight with
to dance with
to cry with
No one who gets me
the way I imagine sisters do
They probably know just the right buttons to push
and how to get you into trouble
so they can slide under the radar
But they probably also know just how to listen
and hold you
when you need it most
And how to share the burden
of looking after kids
and caring for mom and dad
when the time comes
I didn't have to share bathrooms
or makeup
or boyfriends
with a sister
But I didn't get to share
all of that with her either
I can only imagine what the journey of life
would be if I had a sister
and deeply envy those who do
So if you have a sister
hold on to her
Let her know every chance you can
how Important
and Beautiful
and Wonderful
she has made your journey
