Reach Out to Your Friends
You know who they are – those friends you haven't seen for years – the ones who live in a special place in your heart and who hold a piece of you in theirs. When you get together, conversation and laughter and inside jokes flow. You can be yourself, your REAL self without feeling embarrassed that your belly sticks out a bit more, your wrinkles are deeper and more of your joints ache.
You know who they are – those deep, special friends who love you for who you are on the inside. You feel ALIVE in their presence, energized, as if everything is full of color and light and funny little moments. Your cheeks hurt from smiling and laughing, a few tears flow, and time goes way too quickly.
When was the last time you reached out to get together (in person, on the phone, on Zoom?) with those friends you think about, but forget to call? No – texting and social media just doesn't cut it – that's for the wider circle who don't really know the real you. I'm talking about really connecting with the ones who you share that deep bond.
My challenge to you:
Reach out and connect with a friend who you've lost touch with and tell her how much she means to you! Then plan a time to call, to meet-up in some form and spend time together.
Are you still isolating? Or far away from your friend? No problem... One thing I've learned through all this – we don't need to breath the same air in order to connect!
I raise my arms to the moon and send my love to you and your friends
