A Study in Grey

The view out my window as 2020 drew to a close was a study in grey. Grey water flowing into grey sky, a grey blanket of cloud hovering in the trees on the other side of the harbor. There’s beauty and serenity in the muted colors—a fitting finale for a year with a few too many harsh undertones.

When presented with a rainbow, I don’t typically reach for grey—my palette of paint, fiber, beads, clothing tends to be on the more saturated side. But there’s beauty in the softness, the understated, the subtlety of grey that I love too. And right now softness, understated and subtle suit me just fine.
