USPS is gridlocked and Santa will be a bit late this year.

My heart goes out to the wonderful people at USPS who have been slammed with more package volumes than ever before, due to: 1. increased on-line shopping; 2. Amazon, UPS and FedEx pushing off their volumes onto the postal service; 3. reduced and exhausted staff due to the pandemic; and 4. cost-cutting measures imposed by the new Postmaster General.

Packages are gridlocked, employees are overwhelmed and demoralized and the highest holiday shipping hasn't even hit yet.

Please join me in being extra kind to post office employees, exercising patience with packages that are taking a long time to get where they're going, and in embracing that opening Christmas presents a week late is just one more thing we'll add to the story of 'what it was like back in 2020'.
