Bucking the Trend – why this Color Girl follows her own Heart (and why you should too!)
Are you blasted with ‘Trending Now’ notices flooding your inbox?
Are you tired of, or energized by, the ever-changing ‘Newest Trends’ in colors and styles?
Does your heart sink because your closet and home are filled with colors that don’t seem to go with the newest ‘Color-of-The-Year’?

For those of you who are uplifted by trends and the words ‘Trending now’ fills you with inspiration and presents an exciting challenge to you – then woohoo! Grab your paint brush (and wallet) and change it all up!
However, I have to admit - I love surrounding myself with my own personal color palettes, independent of what others say is ‘in style’ - in fact, I’m tired of colors being ‘in’ or ‘out’ and if you feel the same…
I have a fabulous, follow-your-heart solution!
When ‘Trending’ pops up in my inbox, on SM, in the news, all I can think of is that someone else is trying to tell me what to like and not like. Someone else trying to impose their colors or styles onto me. An industry trying to convince me that the colors I fall in love with, have surrounded myself with, drape myself in – are out-of-style, out-of-date. And that by holding onto them, I, or my home, or my clothes are somehow not attractive anymore. Of course, in order to be attractive, these messages are loud and clear - I need to open up my wallet and buy what’s ‘Trending Now’.
However, I’m not buying it! I see right through the marketing ploy: the color industry is big money and what better way to get us to keep buying and buying and buying than to keep changing the ‘trends’?!
I say – Let your own colors shine!
Use the colors that uplift you and make you feel alive – and don’t pay attention to whether they are ‘in’ or ‘out’ this year!
If you are like me and you love all color, are inspired by all color possibilities, and don’t want to be limited, or told what to like or not like, then buck the trend and follow your heart!
