Pause - a tiny poem challenge

Red-Leaf.jpg

I’m participating in a Poetry Challenge #tinyautumnpoem hosted by Beth Kempton. The focus is to let go, allow the thoughts to flow. No pressure, no perfectionism. Just stream of consciousness allowing only 10 minutes for the poem to take form. Here is day 1 and the prompt is PAUSE

Pause

I pause for a moment

Fingers on the keyboard

To watch an autumn breeze dance through maple leaves

Outside my window

It seduces a red leaf

Who pirouettes on a choreographed path to the ground

As if it knew where it was going

Before it let go
